Missions Purse – Our History

Missions Purse has been born out of several years of experience, passion and love for reaching out to our less privileged brethren in deprived communities in Ghana and beyond with the Gospel and love of Jesus Christ.

For over two decades the founder of Missions Purse, Rev. Albert Takyi has been involved in church planting in remote communities throughout the length and breadth of Ghana through his parent church, Calvary Pentecostal Church headquartered in Takoradi in the Western Region of Ghana. Rev. Albert Takyi was a founding member of Calvary Pentecostal Church where he was ordained and served as a Pastor and later the General Secretary of the Church. Rev. Albert Takyi has also been involved in the training and nurturing of Christian leaders and mentored several Christian Ministers who are serving in several denominations.

He had coordinated activity of Ghana Evangelical Missions Association (GEMA) a national network of missionary organizations in Ghana for almost a decade and has organized and been involved in the training and empowering missionaries. He has participated in regional missions and church consultations and training in Africa.  Rev. Albert Takyi also served as Administrative Secretary with the Ghana Christian College and Seminary, now Ghana Christian University College from 1996 to 2002.

Missions Purse is run by experienced reputable men and women with passion for spreading the love of God through the Gospel of Jesus Christ with varied backgrounds. The ripe fields of unreached peoples and communities, the opportunities of service and the command of the master as stated in the gospel of John compels and spurs us on to help fulfill our Lord’s mandate

“Do you not say, it is yet four months and the harvest comes? Behold, I say to you, Lift up your eyes and behold the fields, for they are already white to harvest. And the one reaping receives reward and gathers fruit to everlasting life, so that both the one sowing and the one reaping may rejoice together. (John 4:35-36)
